On 23-25 September 2025, two workshops were held for the purpose of enhancing mediation practices in Azerbaijan and improving the cooperation between the actors of the judicial system in this area.

The first workshop, devoted to “Professional Approaches and Standards in Mediation,” enabled 25 national mediators to acquire practical skills to effectively facilitate the resolution of disputes through mediation.

The second workshop on “The Role of Lawyers in Mediation,” brought together 22 members of the Azerbaijan Bar Association who were made aware of the benefits of mediation and the techniques for supporting their clients throughout the process.

Both events provided an opportunity to introduce the participants to several CEPEJ mediation tools. The events were conducted in cooperation with the Mediation Council, the Azerbaijani Bar Association, and the Academy of Justice of Azerbaijan.

These activities were organised within the framework of the Project “Fostering mediation in Azerbaijan”, funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe in their Partnership for Good Governance III (2023-2027).
