On 21 October 2022 the Digital Development Unit of the Council of Europe co-organised a meeting of the Globalpolicy.AI, a cooperation platform involving multiples intergovernmental organisations with complementary mandates on artificial intelligence (AI). It brings together the work of eight IGOs: the Council of Europe, the European Commission, the Fundamental Rights Agency, the Inter-American Development Bank, the OECD, the UN, the UNESCO and the World Bank.

The regular activities and meeting organised within this framework are also part of the Committee on Artificial Intelligence’s external cooperation and coordination efforts and are crucial to ensure the consistency and complementarity of our Committee’s work on the future Convention and the HUDERIA with important initiatives in this area led by other IGOs.

The meeting, which took place in the Council of Europe’s Paris office in a hybrid format, was devoted to the participants’ on-going efforts to create risk and impact assessments for AI systems.
