On 15–16 December 2025, Mr. Mario Hernández Ramos, Chair of the Committee on Artificial Intelligence (CAI), participated in the Parliamentary Conference on Artificial Intelligence, held at the UK Parliament in London. The conference brought together parliamentarians from Council of Europe member States and other key stakeholders to examine the latest developments in artificial intelligence and their implications for democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.
Mr. Hernández Ramos contributed to the panel on “AI and Human Rights: Ensuring Ethical Standards,” highlighting the significance of the Council of Europe Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence, the role of parliaments and parliamentarians in promoting its ratification and implementation.
The event offered a platform to exchange best practices, define parliamentary roles in AI governance, and mobilise support for the Council of Europe’s Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence.
