The Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies (MIGS) organizes on April 20 to 23 its annual AI and Human Rights Forum to discuss the raising questions of the impact of artificial intelligence on the rights of people around the globe and issues such as disinformation, online hate and freedom of speech among others. The event will take place virtually and will be broadcasted live on Youtube and Facebook.

Mr Jan Kleijssen, Director of Information Society and Action against Crime will represent the Council of Europe during the panel “The ethics of AI: how can we ensure democratic governance?” which takes place on April 22 from 1PM to 2PM, and during which he will answer questions on the progress made towards a democratic governance of AI, how we can achieve it, the gaps left and questions from the audience.
