Cyril and Methodius Route : International Conference “The Path of Cyril and Methodius – Spatial and Cultural-Historical Dimensions”

From 27-29 October, an international conference “The Path of Cyril and Methodius – Spatial and Cultural-Historical Dimensions” was held in Sofia, Bulgaria. It was organized by the Cyrillo-Methodian Research Center at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), member of the Cyril and Methodius Route since 2013.

The forum was organized as an event supporting the newly certified Cyril and Methodius Route in 2021 and brought together scholars from leading academic institutions in Bulgaria and abroad, who are involved in studying the life and work of Cyril, Methodius and their disciples, as well as the transformation of the Cyrillo-Methodian tradition into cultural heritage.

The conference was introduced by Prof. Slavia BARLIEVA, Deputy Director of the Center, who works closely with the Cyril and Methodius Route. Martina JANOCHOVÁ, Manager of the Cyril and Methodius Route, presented its activities and the development of cooperation with Bulgaria. Mr. Stefano DOMINIONI, EPA Executive Secretary and EICR Director, participated in the conference virtually and represented the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe programme.

Online recordings of the conference, which was attended by several dozen experts online and in person, can be viewed on the Facebook profile of the organizing center.
