Back Study Visit of a Delegation of the Constitutional Court of Turkey to the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights

The seventh study visit under the Joint Project on “Supporting Individual Application to the Constitutional Court in Turkey” was organised to the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) on 10 – 12 July 2017. A delegation of 20 participants, consisting of Secretary General, Chief Rapporteur, rapporteurs and IT staff of the Turkish Constitutional Court, participated in the study visit.

During the study visit the delegation had meetings with the senior lawyers from the Turkish divisions of the ECtHR where they discussed functioning, procedure and admissibility criteria of the Court, the right to life, prohibition of torture, the right to liberty and security, interpretation of the Convention, the margin of appreciation, the right to a fair trial, freedom of expression and  protection of property.

IT experts and rapporteur responsible for IT department of the Constitutional Court of Turkey had a meeting with the Head of Information Technology Department of the Registry of the European Court of Human Rights where they were briefed on the IT system and HUDOC system of the Court.

The delegation also attended the Grand Chamber hearing of Zubac v. Croatia.
