Prison reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina

01/04/2005 – 30/09/2007

The Council of Europe is implementing a project financed by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) to contribute to the reform of the prison system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Activities carried out under this project aim at increasing the knowledge and the respect of the relevant European standards and ensure uniformisation and harmonisation of the prison systems in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A first project was implemented from April 2005 to March 2007, then followed by another project aiming at sustaining previous achievements and maintaining the momentum of the reform.
