This project contributes to strengthening and protecting human rights through the prevention and control of trafficking in human beings in Azerbaijan.

It consists of two training workshops, targeting officials of the leading state institutions responsible for the implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (CETS No.197), which entered into force in the country on 1 October 2010.

The purpose of these training sessions is to assist and support Azerbaijani authorities to strengthen institutional capacities for fighting and preventing trafficking in human beings in line with the provisions of the above mentioned Convention. The workshops should furthermore present good practices and innovative approaches of other countries in this respect and provide a platform for discussion among Azerbaijani stakeholders.

This project is organised and implemented by the Council of Europe, with the support of a German voluntary contribution.
