Participation of the Director, Secretary of the Venice Commission in the academic conference “Constitutional Courts as Guardians of the Rule of Law for Peace in a Changing Global Order”

The Director, Secretary of the Venice Commission and Secretary General of the World Conference on Constitutional Justice (WCCJ) participated in the Annual Academic Conference marking the 28th anniversary of the Constitutional Court of the Kingdom of Thailand. The conference, entitled “Constitutional Courts as Guardians of the Rule of Law for Peace in a Changing Global Order”, brought together judges, academics and legal practitioners, professors and representatives of academia.

The Secretary of the Venice Commission, together with the President of the Constitutional Court of Thailand and the Vice-President of the Constitutional Court of Uzbekistan (online), delivered presentations addressing the theme of the conference.

On 7 April 2026, the Secretary of the Commission and the legal advisor of the Venice Commission coordinating the works of the WCCJ delivered special lectures at Thammasat University on the topics “Contemporary Challenges of Constitutional Justice” and “International Standards of Constitutional Review and the Global Dialogue on Constitutional Justice: The Role of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe and the World Conference on Constitutional Justice”.

The Constitutional Court of Thailand is a member of the Bureau of the World Conference on Constitutional Justice, representing the continent of Asia/Oceania.
