A second training session was organised for 15 law enforcement representatives from Republika Srpska and Brčko District in Sarajevo from 13 to 15 July 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional responses to technology-facilitated violence against women in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The training brought together officers working directly with victims of violence and those responsible for criminal investigations. Through expert presentations, practical exercises and discussions, participants enhanced their understanding of different forms of digital violence, including online harassment, cyberstalking and the non-consensual sharing of intimate images.

The sessions focused on strengthening the ability of law enforcement officers to recognise technology-facilitated violence, collect and analyse digital evidence, and ensure victim-centred responses when handling such cases. Particular attention was given to international standards, including the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (Istanbul Convention), and their application in everyday police practice.

Building on the knowledge and skills developed through these sessions, advanced-level training will be launched in October 2026 for selected police officers. The programme will further strengthen their specialised expertise and practical capacities to investigate cases of technology-facilitated violence against women.

By strengthening the capacities of law enforcement to respond effectively to emerging forms of digital abuse, these activities contribute to improving the protection of victims and enhancing institutional responses to violence against women in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This training was organised as part of the project “Strengthening Bosnia and Herzegovina’s responses to digital and sexual violence against women”, implemented by the Council of Europe under the Action Plan for Bosnia and Herzegovina 2026–2029 and funded through voluntary contributions.
