Marija Pejčinović Burić, Chair of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, today made the following statement:
“This year marks the 10th anniversary of the conflict in Georgia, which is unfortunately still unresolved. In my capacity as Chair of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, I wish to take this opportunity to reaffirm my unequivocal support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within its internationally recognised borders. My thoughts go to the victims of the conflict, in particular to the many displaced persons.”
