Across Europe, 24 countries took part in this year’s European Rendez-vous in Gardens from 5 to 7 June 2026.

A huge thank you to all the garden owners and managers, so many of whom opened their gates and organised a wide range of activities this year, as well as to all those involved in this unifying event (representatives of national and European institutions, associations, foundations, professionals, etc.).

This amounted to 2,230 gardens open to the public (some on an exceptional basis or taking part for the first time) and 4,200 activities on offer for all audiences, half of which centred on the theme chosen for 2026: sight.

This event also serves to highlight the work and expertise of gardeners, botanists, landscape architects, outreach workers and others, and to raise  awareness amongst all members of the public – particularly young people – of the importance of protecting, conserving, properly managing and developing parks and gardens in both urban and rural areas, in order to combat climate change and offer a better quality of life to European citizens.
