Focus on Afghanistan - Training offered for evaluating Afghan refugee credentials

With the sudden flight of thousands of Afghans, the question of how their qualifications can be assessed and recognized is now high on the agendas of recognition authorities across Europe.

To meet these challenges, the European Qualifications Passport for Refugees (EQPR) has developed a specified training module on qualifications from Afghanistan. This module is primarily targeted towards credentials evaluators currently using the EQPR but given the urgent need for updated information, the course is now open to all evaluators in the ENIC and NARIC networks.

This training constitutes the initial and essential part of capacity building among recognition professionals in order to facilitate efficient, professional and fair treatment of Afghani qualifications in the coming period. The EQPR in particular caters to refugees who cannot fully document their qualifications.

This online training course will take place on Friday 10th September 2-3.30 pm CET and will be facilitated by an experienced Dari-speaking credentials evaluator from the Norwegian ENIC-NARIC. Participants will be encouraged to share their experiences and send their questions to the presenter.

In order to register to the training and to receive the link for the training, please send an email to: [email protected]

Implemented by the Council of Europe since 2017, the European Qualifications Passport for Refugees enables refugees to have their qualifications assessed even in the absence of a full documentation. The EQPR can help refugees when they wish to enter further studies or seek employment.
