European Qualifications Passport for Refugees to be presented as good practice during UN General Assembly side event

The Council of Europe-led European Qualifications Passport for Refugees (EQPR) will be presented as an example of good practice during a UNGA side event organised by UNESCO in co-operation with the Institute of International Education (IIE) in New York on 26 September 2019 at 3 pm (local time).

Anwar Horani, EQPR holder will participate in the panel discussion (via videoconference) and will share her experience as a refugee who had her qualifications assessed and how the EQPR has had a positive impact on her life.

During the event, a new global tool aiming at facilitating the recognition of refugees’ qualifications, the “UNESCO Qualifications Passport for Refugees and Vulnerable Migrants”, will be introduced. The Council of Europe, NOKUT (the Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education) and the UNHCR are contributing to the discussions on the development of the new global tool led by UNESCO.
