Back “Prevent bullying and peer violence in schools” – Inaugural project Steering Committee meeting held

The Inaugural Steering Committee meeting of the project “Prevent bullying and peer violence in schools”, took place in Belgrade on 28 May 2024. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Institute for Improvement of Education, the Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation, and the Institute for Mental Health.

The meeting was opened by Vesna Atanasova, Head of Unit at the Education Department of the Council of Europe, who expressed her appreciation to the Steering Committee members, commending their dedication and efforts in ensuring the sustainability and success of the initiative.

Snezana Vukovic, Head of Department for human and minority rights in education in the Ministry of Education, highlighted the importance of the project not only for the topics that will be covered, but also for developing comprehensive policy strategies and effective measures for enhancing the safety of learners.

Kristijan Rajkovic, Senior Project Officer, Council of Europe Office in Belgrade, underlined the importance of bringing together expertise from different institutions which will bring diverse knowledge and a rich experience providing a quality basis for the next phase of development of policies for preventing and protecting children from violence.

This Project is implemented by the Council of Europe and funded by Germany. It is implemented in co-operation with the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Republic of Serbia from January 2024 to December 2025.
