In the framework of a cooperation programme, two major project outputs were presented by CEPEJ experts and discussed with Spanish authorities. Namely, a Feasibility Study on the regulation concerning Electronic Judicial Procedure which analyses and identifies good practices as well as recommendations on right to digital disconnection, open data, automatisation of decisions using Artificial Intelligence, online alternative dispute resolution, and remote hearings while considering CEPEJ instruments.
The other Study, on Judicial organisation in a digital context, aims at investigating solutions implemented by various European systems for promoting organisational and digital efficiency, while incorporating some key aspects such as the judicial map, human and material resources, the need for legal changes, technological capabilities, or the implications on access to justice as guaranteed by Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
Mr Manuel Olmedo, Spanish Secretary General of Innovation and Quality of the Public Service of Justice opened the meeting, which was followed by presentations by Spanish authorities on the status of the current Spanish reform efforts and cyberjustice development plans.
This action is part of the Project “Promoting cyberjustice in Spain through change management” (phase II), funded by the European Union via the Structural Reform Support Programme and in cooperation with the European Commission's DG Structural Reform Support.
