An itinerant exhibition showcasing the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe across France in 2026

An exhibition highlighting the 34 Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe crossing France will travel to several locations throughout the country in 2026.

Structured around 35 roll-up panels, the exhibition invites visitors to discover the heritage sites, Cultural Routes and partners involved in the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe programme. Spread across Europe, including in lesser-known and less-frequented territories, these sites promote a meaningful and values-driven form of tourism, encouraging soft mobility and highlighting local skills and know-how.

After being displayed for two months at the Maison de l’Europe in Paris at the end of 2025, the exhibition is currently being hosted by the University of Artois in Arras. It will then continue its journey in February at the Nausicaá National Sea Centre in Boulogne-sur-Mer, on the occasion of the 6th edition of the Regional Forum on Scientific Culture in Hauts-de-France, following an invitation from the European Route of Industrial Heritage.

In March, the exhibition will be presented in Brest at Le Quartz, on the French Hiking Federation Congress (26-29 March). In April, it will travel to La Rochelle for the Hanseatic Days, organised annually by the The Hansa.

From May to August, the exhibition will be hosted at the Maison de la culture in Firminy, part of the Le Corbusier Destination: architectural Promenades, before resuming its itinerary in October in Deauville, at the invitation of the Cluniac Sites in Europe. Finally, in November, it will circulate across the Aube department to mark the final event of the HIKE4ALL project, led by the Via Francigena.

Alongside the exhibition, numerous events will be organised by the Cultural Routes for professionals, civil society and/or the general public, aiming to highlight the European dimension of heritage at local level, the values upheld by the Council of Europe, and the vitality of these multilateral cooperation networks.
