Online training session on “Informed consent” and “Medical confidentiality’’ under the Project on ‘‘Human Rights Protection in Biomedicine’’ in Armenia

Online training session on the topics of ‘’Informed consent’’ and ‘’Medical confidentiality’’ was organised on 13 December 2021 for 50 participants of HELP roll-out groups of legal and healthcare professionals of Armenia launched in October 2021. The participants are mainly physicians working in the mental health organizations and lawyers.

The training was dedicated to the presentation of European standards on informed consent and medical confidentiality enshrined in the Oviedo Convention. The training session was tutored by Mr. Joaquin Cayon de Las Cuevas, Head of the Research Group on Health Law and Bioethics and international consultant of the Project on ‘‘Human Rights Protection in Biomedicine’’

The substantial presentations were followed by active discussion on the topics and comparisons with the Armenian legislation in the field.

The Training session was organised in the frameworks of the Council of Europe’s Project on ‘‘Protection of Human Rights in Biomedicine’’ in Armenia.
