The Committee of Experts on the Operation of the European Conventions on Cooperation in Criminal Matters (PC-OC) held its 89th meeting from the 19th to the 21st of May 2026 in Strasbourg.
The PC-OC discussed a range of issues based on concrete experiences relating to judicial co-operation raised by its members and discussed practical solutions to common problems.
Agenda items included the relationship between asylum and extradition proceedings, time limits for surrender, the issue of confidentiality in MLA proceedings, exchange of information regarding judicial records, and the application of the Convention on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons.
The PC-OC also held a panel discussion on digital assets and e-evidence, and adopted a paper on the interplay between Council of Europe Conventions and the Ljubljana-The Hague Convention in the context of core international crimes.
The PC-OC is one of the permanent sub-committees of the Council of Europe Committee on Crime Problems (CDPC).
