Today a delegation of officials from the Turkish Ministry of Justice and from the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors is meeting with a group of Council of Europe experts. The meeting follows a visit by the Secretary General of the Council of Europe to Ankara on 3 August, and is part of an ongoing dialogue between the Organization and the Turkish authorities. Topics under discussion will include Turkey’s obligations under the European Convention on Human Rights during its present state of emergency. Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu will address the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on Wednesday 7 September.
