Thorbjørn Jagland met with German foreign minister Steinmeier on Tuesday in Berlin. Topics of discussion included human rights in Europe, the role of the European Convention on Human Rights and the situation in Ukraine, Turkey and Azerbaijan. They also discussed the European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture (ERIAC), soon to be established in Berlin.
Mr Jagland gave a speech entitled "Democratic security in times of crisis - the role of the Council of Europe" at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik.
