Democratic Culture - from Words to Action

“Democratic culture - from words to action' is the headline of the international conference taking place from Monday 23 to Tuesday 24 April in Copenhagen.

The conference is organised as part of the Danish Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and will be opened by the Danish Minister of Education Merete Riisager

The conference's main purpose is to provide schools across Europe with a set of concrete tools that can help teachers and other educational staff to initiate constructive debates in classrooms across Europe that ensure the respect for others.

120 representatives from 47 countries will participate in the conference and discuss how to provide teachers and students with the best tools to strengthen democratic citizenship.

The conference focuses on how educational institutions can deal with topics that might be controversial and how to enforce critical thinking among pupils and students”.
