The Council of Europe Youth Department has launched a dedicated webpage for the materials resulting from the capacity-building and awareness-raising event series „Strengthening Democratic Resilience through Youth Engagement and Deliberative Democracy”.

 The collection currently includes the full recording of the Webinar on Deliberative Democracy and Youth Citizens’ Assemblies alongside a list of recommended readers on the topics discussed at the Webinar.

 Organised on 12 May 2026, the Webinar brought together nearly 100 participants from across Europe to explore the concept and practice of deliberative democracy and its potential for strengthening youth engagement. The event mapped the successes and lessons learned from the EU’s Youth Citizens’ Panel on Pollinators and the Ida-Viru Youth Assembly on climate justice and featured young voices from previous citizens’ assemblies held across Europe. The Webinar on Deliberative Democracy was part of the Council of Europe's contribution to the New Democratic Pact for Europe.

 Visitors of the page can also rewatch the recorded livestream of the Roundtable on Deliberative Democracy, the first event organised in the Strengthening Democratic Resilience through Youth Engagement and Deliberative Democracy programme on 17 September 2025.

 This event series, led by the Council of Europe in cooperation with DemNet, aims to enhance the intersections between youth engagement and deliberative democracy, provide inspiration and practical guidance for actors from the youth sector of member states, and equip future advocates and practitioners with the skills and knowledge necessary to implement high-quality deliberative processes that meet standards set by the Recommendation CM/Rec(2023)6 of the Committee of Ministers to member States on Deliberative Democracy.
