On 26 and 27 September, a delegation of the Advisory Committee met with representatives of national minorities from Ukraine in Krakow, Poland. The delegation used the opportunity of the launching conference for a Joint EU/CoE project on anti-discrimination and minority rights to hold a series of meetings with representatives of national minorities and the Ukrainian authorities. In her intervention during the launching conference, the President of the Advisory Committee, Petra Roter, underlined the importance of the implementation of the Framework Convention in Ukraine and to ensure the effective participation of persons belonging to national minorities in the process.
While the Advisory Committee has so far decided not to conduct regular monitoring due to the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine, it follows the situation of national minorities in Ukraine closely.
