Petra Roter is a Professor of International Relations at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Sciences, where she teachers courses on international protection of minorities, international protection of human rights, management of ethnic diversity, international conflict management. She is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre of International Relations at her faculty. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge, UK. She was a visiting fellow or professor at universities of Cambridge, Warwick, Padova and Tübingen. She is a national director of the European Master's in Human Rights and Democratisation (Venice). In her first mandate in the ACFC, she was elected the first vice president (2014–16) and the president (2016–18).
