Thomas McCann, a proud member of the Irish Traveller community, is a community development practitioner, psychotherapist, researcher, and human rights advocate with over 40 years’ experience advancing equality, inclusion, and wellbeing for Travellers in Ireland. He is the founder and Director of the Traveller Counselling Service, a pioneering organisation providing culturally inclusive counselling and psychotherapy services to the Traveller community. A qualified psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and holder of a Doctorate in Applied Social Science, he has represented Travellers at local, national, and international levels. His work spans mental health, anti-racism, community development, research, policy advocacy, training, and education, promoting social justice, equality, and human rights.
