A delegation of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities is visiting Slovenia this week (2-6 March 2026) to evaluate progress made in the protection of national minorities.
The delegation is holding meetings in Ljubljana, Murska Sobota, Lendava/Lendva, Novo Mesto, Občice and Koper/Capodistria with representatives of the government, local authorities, national minorities, as well as civil society to discuss the implementation of the Framework Convention in the country.
Following the visit, the Advisory Committee will draw up its Sixth Opinion on the implementation of the Framework Convention in Slovenia, containing specific findings and recommendations for follow-up. This opinion is expected to be published in early 2027.
