Around 100 customs officers from the International Association of French-Speaking Customs Officials (AIDF) received a presentation on the MEDICRIME Convention at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on 24 October 2025. The session highlighted the Convention’s main objectives, principal criminal provisions and monitoring mechanisms, showcasing the Council of Europe’s role in the global effort to fight against the falsification of medical products.

During interactive discussions, officers from several French-speaking African countries shared experiences and challenges in detecting falsified and unauthorised medical products. The event strengthened their understanding of relevant international legal frameworks and reinforced cooperative efforts to protect public health and the integrity of the supply chain.
