Back What does it mean to be a citizen/human being?

The training unit (TU), developed in the Pestalozzi Programme in the Education for the prevention of discrimination (DISC) module, consists of four groups of activities for initial and in-service training.

The TU focuses on raising public awareness about discrimination and the need for its prevention. Understanding othe basis of discrimination is important for the prevention of discrimination.

This TU contains four groups of activities related to preventative action (the anti-discrimination law) separate areas:

  1. Group: gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and marital status.
  2. Group: genetic heritage, disability, health and age.
  3. Group: political or other opinion, social status, property status and union membership.
  4. Group: religion, language, education, race and nationality.

The TU is implemented through using games and debriefing, dialogue, role play, case studies, simulations, work in small groups, analysis of documents and group interaction methods.
