On July 19 a round table “Regulation of the regional labor market situation by creating new job opportunities, promotion of small and medium enterprises development: experience and perspectives” held in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, the State Employment Service, Donetsk Regional State Administration, Donetsk Regional Employment Center and supported by the Council of Europe Project “Strengthening the Human Rights Protection of Internally Displaced Persons in Ukraine”.
The activity attended by the head of the Donetsk regional state administration Pavel Zhebrivsky, heads of local authorities, international and national civil society organizations, UN agencies, entrepreneurs, specialists of departments, units and services dealing with issues of social protection of internally displaced persons.
The purpose of the round table was to discuss the current state of the regional labor market and perspectives for its development in the situation of a large-scale displacement of population, to exchange experiences of cooperation between state institutions and non-governmental organizations and international projects in solving the issues of unemployment.
More than 50 participants of the round table discussed practical mechanisms and programs for promoting employment by creating new jobs, expanding the scope of employment and developing small and medium-sized businesses.
The event has been concluded by the adoption of the final resolution, which contains the key areas for the facilitation of effective employment with the integration of vulnerable groups.
Support of relevant expert activities encouraging the labor adaptation and reintegration of internally displaced persons into host regional communities, prevention of discrimination towards IDPs and affected population will still be as one of the focuses of the Council of Europe Project “Strengthening the Human Rights Protection of Internally Displaced Persons in Ukraine”.
