Registrations are now open for the new WE CAN online course on hate speech!

Would you like to learn about how you could safely counter online hate? Do you want to connect with a community of activists and practitioners across Europe? Would you like to promote human rights-based narratives online?

A new online course “WE CAN - understand and counter hate speech” is now open for registration

The course will run from 7 April - 5 May 2021.

The course supports participants to:

  • Develop an understanding of what hate speech is
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the impact of hate speech on individuals and communities
  • Gain a better understanding of how hate speech and free speech relate to each other
  • Set up safety measures before engaging with hate speech
  • Identify various forms of counter-speech and prepare a personal action-plan

Learn about how human rights-based narratives can help your efforts! This newly revised version of the Facing Facts counter hate speech course aims to equip participants with the necessary knowledge for recognising hate speech, and to support them in countering it by presenting a multitude of ways, from counter-speech to alternative campaigns, and importantly, human rights-based narratives. The course has been updated using online tools and research from the WE CAN for human rights speech project.

Fill out the registration form to show your interest until 29 March 2021.
