A new training session for teachers and youth workers from various regions of Armenia enabled further exchange of ideas on combating hate speech through human rights education. The training promoted Council of Europe tools and raised awareness among school children in Armenia on hate speech and its dangerous effects on individuals and the society.
This activity is part of the continuous work that started in February 2021, establishing an online alumni network for exchanges on relevant activities and was continued through two online meetings organised in October 2023, consistently recognising important role of teachers in addressing hate speech and tackling various stereotypes through educational programmes.

A road map for future activities was agreed upon with participants, showing the importance of the Council of Europe cooperation with teachers and youth workers to enhance their capacities in promoting equality and respect, combatting hate speech and detrimental stereotypes at schools and beyond.
This event is part of the European Union and Council of Europe joint programme “Partnership for Good Governance”, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe, and implemented by the Council of Europe, in the framework of the project “Promoting equality and non-discrimination in Armenia”.
