 About the project

The idea of the project is to raise awareness of social rights with the aid of a comic strip created by young people. Created by youth and for youth, it will be accessible to the audience that it aims to reach. The young people and the educational team will be trained in topics related to society and current issues.

The objectives of the project are :

• Rise awareness.Make the educational team aware of the different themes arising from social rights, its cross-cutting issues as well as its challenges. Familiar with the topics, the team will be able to equip themselves and learn to juggle information in order to best supervise the group of young people throughout the various stages of the project. The group of participants will be sensitised to themes related to the field of social rights, its cross-cutting issues as well as its challenges. The aim will be to lead the group to carry out a reflection that will focus on these issues, as well as to develop a critical and analytical mindset allowing them to consider situationally appropriate courses of action.
• Become sensitizers: participants will become more literate in legal literature and will be able to further disseminate verified and relevant information to their peers. Acquiring knowledge in the field of social rights is essential so that young people can be aware of their rights and how they can claim them.
•  Develop the creativity and interest of participants through drawing and other artistic means. As an example, we would like to develop more artistic knowledge by benefiting from a specific training in "screen capture" and "postproduction": this training would offer keys relating to how to retouch photos to give them a "comic book" rendering.
• Create a cohesive group where cohesion will be supported by each participant considering the individual needs and backgrounds of all involved. The group will be led to think about the community and living together.
• To promote exchange of ideas and willingness to speak out for these young people in order to push them to become actors of change and C.R.A.C.S. (citizens, responsible, active, critical and supportive).
• Promote the involvement and expression of young people through the creation of storyboards based a relevant theme.
• The creation of the comic strip as a final product and as an awareness-raising tool: it will address a topic influencing the experience of young people (social rights) and will make sense, given the problems they encounter daily (job search, housing search, petty crime, etc.).

The pedagogy of the project is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of participants. These benefits will be felt through the acquisition of a know-how and the satisfaction of creating unique work. This experience will be lived and transmitted with, by, and through the young leaders of the project who will be able to sensitise other young people to the theme. We hope that the young people of this project will learn another lesson: when we give ourselves the means, we can set up a project that is close to our hearts. You should never hesitate to turn to people for help.
