Associate professor at Tilburg University (Netherlands); one of the founders of the international LESLLA association; consultant in the field of adult L2 literacy and integration programs.

Mission: The expert group is developing a reference guide on Literacy and Second Language Learning for the Linguistic Integration of Adult Migrants, linked to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The authors intend to contribute to enhancing language learning opportunities for non- and low-literate adult migrants by supporting their language educators in designing, implementing, evaluating and improving curricula and teaching materials tailored toward the specific needs of the learners.

Mission
The Consultancy group will provide assistance to the Secretariat in:
- i. further dissemination of the results of the intergovernmental project Shared histories for a Europe without dividing lines;
- ii the implementation of the first phase of the new intergovernmental project on Educating for diversity and democracy: teaching history in contemporary Europe with a view of achieving the following specific objectives:
- a/ to collect and analyse information on the history curriculum, teaching and learning and teacher education in relation to the development of democratic citizenship; its position in educational systems and its importance in relation to other subjects in the curriculum;
- b/ to identify and evaluate the range of approaches employed in assessing not only students’ levels of performance in history, but also the dispositions and competences relevant to the concept of democratic citizenship;
- c/ to collect examples of effective practice with a view to determining how history education could best help young people to consider diversity positively, to learn how to live together, to combat manipulation and violence, and to develop a culture of co-operation.
