The EDURES Toolkit addresses the capacity of an educational ecosystem to withstand, recover, adapt, and persist in the face of crises. The strategies designed with the support of EDURES focus on institutional preparedness and recovery, but also seek to strengthen the performance of public authorities and improve overall levels of quality education.
The CDEDU was informed on the progress in piloting of the toolkit and to raise awareness on the EDURES and on the piloting among local stakeholders and interested end-users.
The piloting has already started in Italy, in Friuli-Venezia-Giulia region and will soon start with Albania. It is expected that the piloting will help foster the sharing of participants’ experiences and exchange of best practice and inspire continued collaboration, innovation, and resilience within the broader educational community, be it at national, regional or municipal levels.
Council of Europe’s activity on Education Resilience in times of emergencies and crisis and EDU-RES Toolkit also contribute towards achieving the UN SDG4 and successfully fostering co-operation between UNESCO and the Council of Europe in this respect, in particular. EDU-RES is now presented on SDG4 hub as an example of best practice and as a contribution of Region Europe.
It is expected to present first piloting results as early as the next meeting of the CDEDU in Autumn 2024.
