CEFR Companion Volume: opportunities and challenges of implementation

Twenty years after the release of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and on the occasion of the recent publication of the CEFR Companion Volume in its French version, the Council of Europe is organising an international conference on 18 November 2022 to (re)launch the CEFR, and in particular its fundamental concepts, in the French-speaking world.

The Rüschlikon symposium in 1991 was the starting point for the CEFR. Today, we return once again to Switzerland, this time to the French-speaking part of the country, for a major event organised by the Directorate of the Education Department of the Council of Europe, the Conférence Intercantonale de l'Instruction Publique des cantons romands et du Tessin and France Éducation International, partners in the organisation and promotion of the event.

The event will take place in hybrid mode, in order to allow institutions from the French-speaking world in different countries to participate at a distance.
