The Council of Europe/European Union Horizontal Facility II Action against Economic Crime in North Macedonia continues to support national authorities in amending the AML/CFT Law. In line with the findings of the updated NRA, comments and recommendations were provided by the Council of Europe’s consultant and discussed with representatives of the Financial Intelligence Office. The recommendations provided will be taken into consideration by authorities and shall be incorporated into the Law. The amended law will incorporate these recommendations in order to be compliant with the AML/CFT Strategy.

The Action against Economic Crime in North Macedonia has already started the process of supporting the beneficiaries in the drafting of the new AML/CFT Strategy.
