Back Regional conference on asset recovery and asset management

The regional conference “From Asset Recovery to Asset Management” took place in Chisinau on 29-30 January 2020. The conference aimed at sharing good comparative practices related to recovery, management and disposal of frozen, seized or confiscated proceeds of crime and discussing international cooperation in asset recovery. Practitioners and policy makers from nineteen countries participated in this event. During the two days, participants discussed challenges and success stories in establishing asset recovery and management offices, freezing and seizing practices, international mutual legal assistance, informal mechanisms for cooperation in asset recovery cases and domestic inter-agency cooperation. The conference also facilitated exchange of expertise and practices on asset management and disposal.

The conference was funded by three joint European Union/Council of Europe projects: Project on Controlling corruption through law enforcement and prevention in the Republic of Moldova (CLEP), Partnership for Good Governance Regional Project for Eastern Partnership region (PGG) and the Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey (HF).
