The Second Steering Committee (SC) meeting of the EU/CoE Horizontal Facility II Action against Economic Crime in Montenegro took place on 24 June 2020 in Podgorica, Montenegro. The meeting was attended by representatives of beneficiary institutions.

The aim of the Second Steering Committee Meeting was to acquaint the SC members with the implemented activities in the previous 8 months and to present the workplan for the implementation of activities in the next 6 months. The SC also had the opportunity to consider proposals for adding new activities, discuss and adopt proposed amendments to the three-year work plan and discuss other issues related to project implementation. Special attention was paid to the rescheduling of activities affected by CoVID and finding alternatives to in-person meetings.

The stakeholders expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved in the first eight months, especially in the field of regulation of political financing, as well as with the timely assistance with the legal reform in the field of anti-money laundering and countering financing of terrorism, following the institutional change in 2019.
