Publication of a new CoE report: Right to the Highest Attainable Standard of Health and Access to Healthcare for LGBTI People in Europe

We are pleased to inform you that a publication of a new Council of Europe report is now available, Right to the Highest Attainable Standard of Health and Access to Healthcare for LGBTI People in Europe.

This report, prepared by our Committee of Experts on Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression, and Sex Characteristics (ADI-SOGIESC), uncovers substantial health inequalities between LGBTI persons and the general population. It also provides 38 recommendations to Council of Europe member states to improve healthcare access for LGBTI people and promote a more inclusive and equitable healthcare system across Europe.

This report is part of a series of thematic reports assessing the implementation of Council of Europe Recommendation CM/Rec(2010)5 to member states on measures to combat discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

We strongly encourage you to share this report as widely as possible with relevant stakeholders, networks, and organisations working in the fields of healthcare, human rights, and equality.
