Local public authorities strengthen their capacities to prevent corruption and apply principles of open government by implementing principles of transparent, ethical, and inclusive practices
A combination of tools and activities are implemented to support local authorities, local representatives, the Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova (CALM) and central authorities in aligning local level policies and practices on integrity, corruption prevention, open governance and gender equality with Council of Europe and Congress standards. A gender-sensitive approach is used to ensure that women and men are equally involved in all project activities. The project also includes activities aimed at strengthening the knowledge and skills of local elected representatives to mainstream gender equality and combat sexism in local policies and practices. A guide for preventing and combating sexism in local politics will be developed for this purpose. A human rights-based approach is applied, ensuring that the principles of equality, non-discrimination and inclusion are respected in the implementation of all activities.
