The Council of Europe’s Intercultural Inclusion Unit is currently implementing the Intercultural Cities (ICC) Programme, a capacity building programme which supports a network of cities and regions to manage diversity as an asset. It supports authorities in developing and implementing intercultural inclusion policies, provides practical tools, guidance, training and peer learning, and promotes equality, interaction and participation among people with different cultural backgrounds. Through its network, the programme enables cities and regions to exchange experiences and develop innovative approaches to tackling discrimination and inequality whilst promoting stronger and more cohesive societies – turning experience into solutions.
The Intercultural Inclusion Unit also provides the Secretariat to the Committee of Experts on Intercultural Inclusion (ADI-INT), an intergovernmental expert committee responsible for supporting the development of Council of Europe standards, guidance and policy approaches in the field of intercultural inclusion at local, regional and national levels.
