On 12-13 February 2026, the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) organised in cooperation with the Mediation Council and the Academy of Justice of Azerbaijan, a workshop entitled “Improving the professional skills of mediators”.

The workshop brought together 35 mediators from Baku and various regions of the country. It focused on strengthening practical skills in mediation, including effective communication techniques, management of the mediation process, and addressing challenges encountered in family and labour disputes.

The activity combined theoretical input with interactive discussions, role plays and practical exercises aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of mediation practice. Participants were also introduced to relevant CEPEJ tools on mediation.

This activity was organised within the framework of the Project “Fostering mediation in Azerbaijan”, funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe in their Partnership for Good Governance III (2023-2027).
