The Council of Europe, in co-operation with the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova and the Centre for Continuous Electoral Training, launched an analysis of all recommendations and proposals issued by the International Election Observation Missions (IEOMs) between 2014-2021, as well as Venice Commission's (VC) opinions on the amendments to the electoral legislation and legislation on political financing of the Republic of Moldova.
For the first time in the electoral field, Moldovan Authorities will be provided with a comprehensive analytical document indicating the level of implementation, and/or non-implementation, of the relevant IEOMs’ and VC’s recommendations and opinions. This will serve as a basis for further steps to improve both the electoral legislation and electoral processes in the Republic of Moldova.
This work is carried out with the expert support of the Venice Commission. The results will be presented publicly to the electoral bodies, decision-makers and civil society organisations from the Republic of Moldova at the end of October 2021.
