On 20 and 21 November, the Department for the Execution of Judgments held meetings with Bulgarian legal experts and officials from the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Finance, to discuss the Bulgarian authorities’ ongoing work aimed at establishing a formalised national procedure for the implementation of the European Court’s judgments against Bulgaria.
The event took place within the framework of a project developed by the Bulgarian Government’s Agent’s Office under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. The discussions focused on the possible characteristics of the future national procedure and the practices of several other Member States, such as Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Poland, Slovenia, which have introduced formalised execution mechanisms.
