On 21 April, the Department for the Execution of Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights hosted a visit of academics and students from Leiden Law School, who were visiting the Council of Europe on their study trip to Strasbourg, notably as a part of the Advanced LL.M. in European and international Human Rights Law course.
The visit aimed at strengthening awareness of students on the operation of the Convention system and the execution of the Court’s judgments. The Department presented the execution process and its working methods and exchanged with the group on the progress made by member states in executing the Court’s judgments, as well as on the most important judgments currently pending before the Committee of Ministers.
