On 13-14 October 2014, the Council of Europe (Department for Execution of Judgments) organised a round table in Strasbourg dedicated to action plans and action reports for the execution of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights.

Action plans and action reports constitute one of the pillars of the new twin-track supervision procedure which was introduced in January 2011. They are the illustration of the principle of subsidiarity according to which the primary responsibility of execution belongs to States. Three years after the implementation of the new procedure, the round table aimed at taking stock of the practice and possible difficulties encountered in the elaboration of action plans / reports as well as exploring their potential for the future.
