On 17 April, Deputy Secretary General Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni met with EU Senior Official for cooperation with the Council of Europe, Stephan Auer, Director of Multilateral Relations and Global Issues at the European External Action Service.

They exchanged on the importance of maintaining a strong strategic partnership between the Council of Europe and the European Union in the core areas of competence of the Council of Europe - human rights, rule of law and democratic governance - within Europe and in the European neighborhood.
