René van der Linden: The Council of Europe stands for solidarity throughout Europe

20.06.2005 - Speaking at a press conference, the first day of the PACE summer session, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly commented amongst other things, the EU summit last week in Brussels: ''It is a shame that we are not able to show solidarity with the new member states. We do need more integration and more economic progress'', René van der Linden stated, ''but Europe should be more than just economy and trade''. He concluded that the Council of Europe was fully in favour of solidarity throughout Europe.
