10.03.2005 - Creating a partner relationship with mass media is the main objective of the new Ukrainian government, said Victor Yuschenko, opening the conference this morning. ''Today, we are cleaning Ukraine from the dirt and shame of the past. This conference is like the first spring bird, the messenger of spring in Ukraine'', he said. Everything would be done for a ''most rapid investigation'' of many Ukrainian journalist cases; the investigation of the ''Gongadze case is almost finished by now'', he confirmed. He furthermore urged the international media to reconsider their information policy and to open their offices in Kyiv to ''have access to the most precise and truthful information about this European country''.
